MYLES KENNEDY 'Very Grateful' For Chance To Work With SLASH, LED ZEPPELIN Members

April 26, 2010

The Pulse of Radio reports: ALTER BRIDGE frontman Myles Kennedy has had a whirlwind two years, starting in late 2008 when he was invited to jam with LED ZEPPELIN guitarist Jimmy Page, bassist John Paul Jones and drummer Jason Bonham as the possible frontman of a ZEPPELIN offshoot act. Although that didn't pan out, Kennedy was approached last year to sing on Slash's debut solo effort, which also landed him the gig as the ex-GUNS N' ROSES axeman's touring vocalist. Kennedy told The Pulse of Radio he can't believe his good fortune. "If someone would have told me years ago that I would have experienced some of the things I've experienced with the players that I've been lucky enough to be involved with, I would have never believed it, you know," he said. "I mean, it's just been insane. So I'm very grateful."

Page, Jones, and Bonham decided to check out other vocalists after Robert Plant made it clear he had no interest in doing more with ZEPPELIN at the time, despite a well-received reunion at a benefit concert in December 2007.

Slash's self-titled album debuted at No. 3 two weeks ago on Billboard's Top 200 chart, with 60,000 copies sold. The set features a different guest vocalist on each track, including Fergie, M. Shadows of AVENGED SEVENFOLD, Kid Rock, Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Grohl and Chris Cornell.

Slash, Kennedy and the rest of the touring band will take to the road this spring and summer.

ALTER BRIDGE also recently completed work on its third studio effort, due out later this year.
